The Emergency Evacuation Plan is a written document that details the safety systems that have been implimented for the facility and buildings. It also outlines what workers and others at the workplace should do in an emergency. An emergency plan must provide for the following: emergency procedures, including: an effective response to an emergency, the evacuation procedures, how to notify emergency service organisations at the earliest opportunity, protocols for medical treatment and assistance, and effective communication between the person authorised to coordinate the emergency response and all people at the workplace. testing of the emergency procedures—including the frequency of testing, and information, training and instruction to relevant workers in relation to implementing the emergency procedures.

Conducting Facility safety meetings are an important part of the safety culture for your company. The Australian Standards (AS3745) suggest that you hold a meeting at least once per year. Whether your safety program is brand new or fairly established, adding regular safety meetings is always a good idea. When it comes to workplace safety, there is no better time to promote new ideas or reinforce safe working habits than in a safety meeting. Documenting the safety meeting provides a clear way forward and designates responsibilty to the appropriate person or people.
One of the features of Firebase is that it provides a structured method which people can follow so as to document the safety meetings and ensure problems get fixed.
The Evacuation Diagram is intended to provide emergency and evacuation information for occupants and visitors. They should contain concise, clear and appropriate detail to inform occupants and visitors in an emergency.
Firebase provides a structured method that stores the diagrams online whereby you can access them or include them in other documents (Evacuation plan). Firebase also documents changes over time and can detail that you company has bee proactive in maintaing this safety installation. Firebase will also notify you each year to check the diagrams.
Your site may need a Chemical manifest plan. This plan is intended to provide attending emergency services the relevant information about what dangerous chemicals are stored onsite. It should also detail the dangers to buildings and companies surrounding your site.
Firebase can help develop the plan in accordance to the Australian Standards. Firebase stores a list of all dangous chemicals that have been identified in the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals which you can access to assist in generating the Manifest Plan. Once complete you can print and modify at any time.
Sometimes you may have reason to document an individual who may require assistance in evacuating the building. The Personal Evacuation Plan is the document that needs to be developed for the person. The Health and Safety at Work Act along with other Regulations may require employers to implement effective arrangements for emergency evacuation for all employees. The purpose of a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (also known as a PEEP) is to provide people who cannot get themselves out of a building unaided with the best possible escape plan in a fire emergency.
Firebase provides a template that can assist in developing such a plan. Once complete you can print and modify at any time.
Managers should be aware that as well as general training for staff, in certain situations, safety training is prescribed in the regulations for specific hazards. Managers should develop a system for identifying, arranging and recording training undertaken by all levels of staff. This is in particular to new employees or following changes in the legislation. This should also form a part of the annual staff development process for staff. In order to identify what training various levels of staff require, managers could use FireBase to document training and identify any gaps.
Firebase provides an online system that your training provider can document what occured during training. You can view and download these documents at any time
